This week as we celebrate the mothers, mother figures and mentors who shape our world ahead of Mother’s Day 2023, we share an insight into some of the most influential individuals behind the scenes at KOOKAI and look forward to the possibilities the next generation will create.
Coming from a long line of women who were models, stylists and actresses, our Co-Founder Danielle was born with fashion in her genes. Some of her earliest memories involve sneaking into her mother, Marcia’s, wardrobe to try on clothes and high heels. In KOOKAI’s founding years in the early 90s, Danielle could be seen balancing one of her two children on her hip while she merchandised, styled customers or made decisions on the creative direction of the brand.

Today her daughter and son, Bianca and Viktor, continue the family legacy as Director and CEO of KOOKAI respectively; following in the fashionable footsteps of two of their biggest role models and mentors.

Sales Assistant at our KOOKAI Collins St boutique was one of Josephine’s first jobs in 1993, igniting her love for all things fashion; a passion that flowed on to daughters Belle, KOOKAI’s Social Media & Content Coordinator and Lucy, who works in one of our Melbourne boutiques.
Our team is powered by talented, empowering individuals who come together as a collective to form the heart and soul of KOOKAI. Many of their stories began on the shop floor in our boutiques before progressing into our head office where they continue to inspire a new generation with limitless potential; both at work and at home.
